Mission Statement:
The Delta Humane Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to rehabilitating and re-homing unwanted, stray and abandoned animals, and to promoting humane treatment of animals through educational programs for our community. We are committed to providing quality veterinary care, as well as, socializing, training, behavioral modification where needed, exercise and daily companionship for all animals at the society. Our passion is to inspire and engage the community to help end animal suffering.
Immediate Goals of the Delta Humane Society:
The Delta Humane Society promises to deliver more financial accountability, improved services such as humane education, training and behavior modification of rehabilitative animals, counseling for owners regarding alternatives to relinquishing animals, free spay/neuter program for low income residents, improved living conditions for animals at the shelter, and improved customer service and community involvement. In addition, the Delta Humane Society has a very clear and detailed euthanasia policy and justification protocol, in order to eliminate the unnecessary destruction of adoptable animals. All Delta Humane Society policies and financial reports are open to the public for review.
The Delta Humane Society will be holding 2 Summer Camps this year for kids between the ages of 8 and 12.

5 day camp - July 31 to August 5 ($150.00)
4 day camp - August 8 to August 11 ($125.00)

There will be some hands-on time with the animals, including cats, dogs and small animals, learning proper care and handling of domestic animals, making toys for the animals, creating and baking animal treats and other activities.
Please call the shelter at 604-940-7111 or stop by for more information.

We are also looking for volunteers (13 or older) to be Junior Camp Leaders. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the shelter and speak to Robyn (604-940-7111 and dial 0).

For an opportunity to win a free week at camp, kids between 8 and 12 can submit their design for our 2006 Summer Camp logo which will then be put onto the camp t-shirts. Submissions must be received by the Delta Humane Society before July 8, 2006 for judging.
